Mother Mary of Jesus
- A soul united to Mary must be a soul where Jesus is able to rest. 1
Perpetual vows of sisters Mary Thairu and Stephenia Kokumanya |
11th October 2013, Entebbe - Region of Uganda/Kenya/Congo
On this wonderful day in the lives of Maria and Stephania, the ceremony took place in Sacred Heart Church Entebbe Parish and was presided over by His Lordship Christopher Kakooza, the Auxiliary Bishop of Kampala Archdiocese who concelebrated with Bishop Charles Martin Wamika of Jinja diocese with a number of priests from within Uganda and Kenya In his homily, the Bishop centered his words on the importance of the consecrated life in our church today. He also challenged the Congregation to sustain our commitment by striving to imitate Jesus. He congratulated the newly professed sisters, and encouraged them to continue working in the vineyard of the Lord, praying for all people because it is the main work for those who are consecrated to the Lord.
They overjoyed when the Regional Superior S. Annette Namugambe welcomed them as members of the sisters of Mary Reparatrix by the following words; “…we will continue to love you and to support you in your faithful response to the call of reparation with Mary.” Indeed, the joy they felt was beyond words as the invitation they had when they left their homes to join sisterhood was made real. At the end of the Eucharistic celebration, photographs were taken, followed by a beautiful reception on the grounds of Entebbe Parish.
We shared a cake as we congratulated our two sisters and had our lunch as entertainments were going on. We thank God for the success of this day and for all the blessings bestowed on our region and our entire congregation at large. Thank you all for your prayers and support. Once again, Congratulations Sisters Mary and Stephania! “May the work God started in you, be accomplished in him.” |
