Ignatius of Loyola (1491-1556) is the founder of the Society of Jesus and of a spirituality centered on discernment and “to seek and find God in all things.” The spirit of this saint profoundly marked Emilie’s spiritual journey.

She was also inspired by the Constitutions of the Jesuits in the elaboration of the rule of the congregation she founded.
