This life took on a conventual, semi-monastic form. The habit was inspired by that of the Visitation sisters, but in blue and white following a marian intuition of the Foundress.
A cloister marked the living quarters of the sisters. In the chapel the sisters faced the altar and were separated from the public by a grill which, however, permitted the faithful to follow the celebrations, to see the sisters in prayer and to participate in adoration of the Blessed Sacrament.
For Emilie, the Eucharistic cult was in itself apostolic. There was no grill in the parlours. |
