12th DAY OF THE XXV GENERAL CHAPTER05/11/2019
13th DAY OF THE XXV GENERAL CHAPTER05/11/2019
Unlike the past few days, we were all gathered in the church for Mass animated by Canada region, inspired by the gospel theme: “To whom will we go”?
The moderator took the same theme to introduce us to this morning of silence. She invited us to be born again, to come out to meet, to recognize, to respect and appreciate our interculturality for mission, and to listen to Emilie and her first companions. She invited us to be open to the unexpected, to the reality of our time and to hear its cries.
She continued to say that as we are preparing to enter into calm and availability, recognize our resistances, our attachments, and have the inner freedom and a grateful heart for all the blessings received and keep the mission in mind.
We welcomed Father Malvaux who prepared us for this moment of discernment for election. He based his reflection on four points as follows: the meaning and importance of the election; considerations of discernment; guidance on ‘murmurationes’ and some Scripture texts to nourish our prayer in this process. We thank him for the support of his prayer and for his considerations which will help us in this path of discernment.
With a prayer based on a song proposed by the region of Canada:
It’s our place to be there
And to announce by our life
What love he already ….
At the heart of today’s world,
we began this moment of silence with much serenity.
During this time of discernment (12th to 16 May), there will be no communication from us. We continue to count on your prayers. You will read from us again on the 17th May.
